Hilary Duff Is ‘Here for’ This Cherry Vanilla Lip-Plumping Gloss That’s Packed with Anti-Aging Benefits

From her Lizzie McGuire days to her recent nude photo shoot for Women’s Health, Hilary Duff has always served up inspiration. And to be frank, we’d try pretty much anything she stands by.

So it shouldn’t be a big surprise that we’re all for the Lawless Cherry Vanilla Lip Gloss she posted on one of her latest Instagram stories, in which her plump pout had a flawless cherry-red shine. Duff’s selfie showing off the gloss was captioned, “here for the cherry vanilla lip gloss” to show she’s a big fan.

Not only does the $25 product plump your lips and add a light red tint, but it also has anti-aging benefits from the hyaluronic acid and shea butter in its formula that provide hydration and a soothing sensation. Plus, over time, it can help alleviate irritation, increase lip volume by 40 percent, and decrease lines when used consistently, according to the brand. And you can never go wrong with an ultra-shiny finish to top off any makeup look.

Apply the product on its own for a glossy sheer tint, or add it on top of your favorite lipstick to give your lips a fuller and more vibrant look. To reap the anti-aging benefits, you can also wear it while you sleep.

Along with Duff, the popular lip product is a favorite of more than 66,000 Sephora shoppers. One five-star reviewer reported that their lips looked “twice as big” after experiencing the gloss’ “phenomenal plumping effect.” Another satisfied customer wrote that it “doesn’t burn or hurt like other lip plumpers” and they highlighted how much they enjoyed that it also adds pigment.

A plumping lip gloss with anti-aging benefits is enough to have us sold, and the fact that Duff and thousands of Sephora shoppers are fans too is just a huge bonus. The $25 purchase might be your new holy grail makeup item of the summer and beyond.

What Went Wrong At Glossier?

Not too long ago it was impossible to scroll through Instagram without coming across an aesthetically-pleasing post by beauty startup Glossier. The millennial-pink packaging, which housed beloved buys like Balm Dot Com and Solution took pride of place in #shelfies belonging to both viral influencers and well-respected skin experts. Endearing product names like Cloud Paint and Skywash earned the brand a cult following and Glossier’s catchy mantra — “skin first, makeup second” — was refreshing. Sticking a middle finger up to the outdated, unattainable glamour that the beauty industry seemed to push on us as consumers, it was makeup minimalism‘s time to shine and beauty lovers welcomed Glossier with open arms.

But after raising $80 million in funding last July, it was announced on 26th January 2022 that the brand had laid off 80 corporate staff members (a third of the company), with the technology team most affected. In an email to employees, CEO Emily Weiss wrote that Glossier had “made some mistakes.

As of July 2021, the company was valued at $1.8 billion. Shiny product launches like Generation G lipstick, the longed-for Solar Paint bronzer, and even pretty-pink merchandise appeared on every beauty blogger’s IG feed — but there’s no denying the excitement was somewhat marred. In spite of the brand’s seemingly-bulletproof popularity, an anti-Glossier movement has been bubbling away on social media. If you’re a beauty lover with a TikTok account, you might have come across a handful of Glossier takedown videos recently. “Let’s talk about Glossier’s fall from grace,” said TikToker @skylar.alyshia in a post. “At one point, they were everything. They were the start of the minimalist look.” Skylar continues: “Then they really started slipping off of everyone’s radar and they quickly became so [irrelevant]. They weren’t really releasing any new products and their shade range was honestly ridiculous.”

TikTok Is Going Wild Over NYX’s New Thickening Brow Mascara — and It’s $11 on Amazon

When it comes to their brows, beauty TikTok does not play around. The second a TikToker finds a product that works, they’re taking to the app to share it with their followers and let everyone in on their secret. This time, it’s all about NYX’s Thick It Stick It Thickening Brow Mascara that’s $11 on Amazon. And can we blame them? Thickening brow mascara sounds like a genius new hack to me.

Taking a note from the playbook of lengthening mascaras for eyelashes, the thickening brow mascara uses tinted plant-origin fibers to create thicker, fuller brows in just a few swipes. The vegan formula wears for up to 16 hours and is buildable, meaning that you can continuously thicken brows to your liking as you add more product. It also comes in eight shades including cool blonde, brunette, and black.

Shop now: $11; amazon.com

By just searching in TikTok’s search bar ‘NYX thickening brow mascara‘ you’ll find hundreds of videos from content creators sharing their thoughts of the product. In a review of the product, which now has more than 249,000 views, TikToker @theadanbravo confirms the appearance of fibers in the formula, as he applies the mascara to just one of his brows. The brow with the brow mascara applied has a visible difference and appears thicker and fuller than the brow without it. “I’m actually really impressed right now,” the TikToker said, “What I’m loving is that you can apply more and it won’t flake at all.”

If you’re looking to add volume to your brows, this NYX brow mascara does seem to do the trick. One TikToker, @soulfiremama, whose brows are on the thinner side, shared a two-part review of the product and did say, “there are fibers on this brush and they can get a little messy,” so “you do have to work quite quickly with this product.” Overall, they agreed “it gives the volume you’re looking for.”

Another beauty content creator @seananthonyv shared a review of the brow mascara, and after they applied the product to their brow, said, “It’s definitely holding it up and it’s adding a lot of color and it’s adding a lot of volume.” about their fuller brows. The TikToker then pressed down on their brows and confirmed that the formula laminated the brows as well.

Well, TikTok has spoken: If your brows could use some extra volume, you need NYX’s new Thick It Stick It Thickening Brow Mascara for $11 on Amazon.

This Viral Highlighter Is Under £30

If there is one thing I know about highlighter, it’s that the more natural it appears on the skin, the more it absolutely needs to be in my make-up bag. Like most women, I have a penchant for looking glowy – fresh, dewy and alive – and seek out formulas that will deliver that result, fast. Those very glow-inducing properties are the reason Charlotte Tilbury’s Beauty Light Wand recently went viral on TikTok and then swiftly sold out – much to the dismay of the 41,000 people left languishing on the waiting list.

A highlighter that effortlessly delivers the kind of glow dreams are made of, it’s long been a staple in my beauty routine. After a quick swoosh on the tops of cheekbones (and some patting in with fingertips), it imparts a very fine shimmer (which reads as dewiness), and melts into skin, subtly catching the light for unbeatable lustre. In fact, this highlighter is so good that the equivalent of one unit of the Pinkgasm shade is sold every eight seconds in the UK.

A glimpse of the countless videos of TikTokers using the product – and, of course, recent photographs of Phoebe Dynevor looking next-level luminous while wearing it – are evidence enough that it’s a formula worth getting on board with. But the brilliance of the Beauty Light Wand is that it doesn’t just look good on camera, or in good lighting; this is a product that looks good IRL too. Dispensed through a cushiony-soft sponge applicator, it’s a gel-cream consistency that dries quickly but doesn’t cake or appear dry and dusty on the skin, as many formulas can. Instead – thanks to silica and an array of skin-loving ingredients – it lends a soft-focus highlight.

Buy at Charlotte Tilbury

“The formula is infused with my genius gel for a wet-look glow – never glittery or shimmery,” confirms Tilbury herself. “It plays with the light beautifully for instant red-carpet cheekbones. My quick trick is to apply along the entire cheekbone with the cushion applicator and blend with fingertips.” Simple and effective as can be, I also apply in this way, and it takes under 10 seconds.

The Pinkgasm shade is particularly beloved because it works exceptionally well on all skin tones, boosting warmth and delivering a rosy glow, whether you are deep or pale, and Tilbury attests that it is a tone that “suits everyone”. For extra oomph on medium to deep skins? “Dial up the rosy-pink hue by applying directly to the apple of cheeks, then blend with my Hollywood Complexion Brush – the densely-packed bristles help it glide on for a more intense, pearlescent pink glow,” she says.

So, as the winter months stay with us, and that healthy, post-facial glow becomes increasingly hard to come by, look no further than this £29 wonder to truly transform your look – just get in there before it sells out again.
